I took some benadryl and was able to sleep some last night. The minute I woke up this morning (5:45 am) contractions started 5 minutes apart, pretty strong and painful. After more than an hour of these, Cameron and I made childcare arrangements. After another hour, they stopped! Well, not completely, but they are spaced out again--10-20 minutes. However, the ones I am having are very painful, just not close together at all. I am 5 cm now and still not in active labor! Craziness. I have a feeling when things start they are going to go very quickly since I am already halfway there. If I went into the hospital now, they could break my water to get things started more intensely, but if that didn't work, once my water is broken, I could end up needing pitocin which I DON'T WANT! So . . . I am resting and waiting, trusting in God's sovereign plan and perfect timing.
Shouldn't be too much longer!
I will keep you posted!
In Christ, Laura

Waiting is so hard. Thinking of you.
Your labour could end up not being overwhelming in the pain department, considering your half way there.
This is kind of amazing for me to hear about this.
But also going through stop and start labour is exausting I'm sure dear Mama!
You so close now!!
A big Hug to you!!

Sorry! what finally happened when I was tired of walking around dialated to 7 for week was (and this was a homebirth) they rubbed the cervix for about 5 minutes... in 20 minutes I was in full labor and had the baby 45 minutes after that. You will have that little one soon!
Laura, I think that laboring slowly like this is great, because you are right, when it is time it should go quickly!
That is how I labored with every baby..... then when active labor hit.... WHAM! Baby out in a very short time.
Praying for a safe, unmedicated , delivery!
With my second, I had that awful prodromal labor, too. The good part was that once things actually got going, I dilated very quickly and my labor was 7 hours.
Sending you good labor prayers!
I have wondered about you several times today. You are almost there!
Praying for you.

Yes, probably a quick labor. Praying for you!
Praying for you girl! (and the little girl!!)
Once my water was broken (naturally or with help) things were always SUPER fast! ---Though, I know everyone is different. I have a feeling that you won't need any assistance!
